Hot Rod was first introduced in Transformers: The Movie (1986) and is a favorite for many, even if he is still blamed for the death of Optimus Prime. He became the polarizing Rodimus Prime at the end of the movie but reverted to his Hot Rod self when Optimus Prime returned. This version has a sword, which is a departure from his standard weapons or even the special energy bow shown in Transformers: Animated.
