The DC Animated Universe Has Big Plans!

DCAU movies ranked: Top 10 DC movies » ScreeninsuitsOn March 18, 2021, DC/WB announced their plans to expand their animated universe.  They have previously announced several animated series: Aquaman: King of Atlantis, Batwheels, and DC Super Pets. But these new announcements sent the internet buzzing! So, let’s see what all the fuss is about!

An Injustice Animated Film 

Injustice. DC. | Injustice 2 characters, Dc heroes, InjusticeAfter the release of Batman: The Long Halloween Parts 1 & 2, the next animated film will be Injustice. Many comic book fans know this story based on DC’s Elseworld series. Gamers will recognize the name from the video game and comic lines of the same name.  This is an excellent choice! At the end of  Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, the Flash went back in time to try and change Earth’s awful present and future. They could connect the two films to have Flash’s action be the reason the Injustice storyline is happening. There is no word on when the film will be released or who the voice cast will be.

A New Animated Superman Series

My Adventures With Superman Animated Series Announced for HBO Max and Cartoon NetworkAlso announced on Wednesday, the new Superman animated series titled, “My Adventures with Superman.” This cartoon will follow Clark, Lois, and Jimmy Olsen when they are just starting out with The Daily Planet. Clark will have to balance being a single man in his 20s, starting a new job, and being Superman. Jack Quaid (The Boys) will voice Clark Kent/Superman and Alice Lee (Switched at Birth) is voicing Lois Lane.

A New Batman Animated Series 

HBO Max Announces Batman: Caped Crusader Animated SeriesThere are already rumors of DC/WB working on a new Batman: The Animated Series. It looks like it won’t be the only Batman series DC has in mind. They also announced Batman: Caped Crusader. Not too much is known about this series. What we do know is that Bruce Timm is executive producing the series and will be working with  J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves for this new project. This show will also air on Cartoon Network and stream on HBO Max.
