The latest Disney+ Star Wars series picks up a decade after the events of Episode III — Revenge of the Sith as Obi-Wan is watching over a young Luke Skywalker while living in exile on the desert planet of Tatooine. Obi-Wan Kenobi will see the Jedi Master forced to confront the dangers of the Galactic Republic as controlled by the Sith and must embark on an adventure to keep the future Jedi savior safe.Ewan McGregor returns to lead the cast alongside Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, and Hayden Christensen – who will reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
While we will have to wait a little longer for Obi-Wan and Anakin to cross paths once again, Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy described the reunion between the actors.
“The thing that was most exciting was being on the set and watching the two of them get excited,” Kennedy told Empire Magazine. “They hadn’t seen one another in a long time. I was surprised at just how incredibly emotional it was for each of them to find themselves back in these roles, and just realizing how important Star Wars was to each of them. It was the beginning of their careers.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 25th.
