Disney + Investor Day, Announcements Abound

It’s that time of year again when Disney reveals the next 365 days of content for both us and their investors. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get into the weeds.

Marvel

First on the block is Disney’s resident interconnected multi-media universe a.k.a the Marvel… CinemaStreaming(?)… Universe. With the general success of their current run of shows, we’ve been waiting excitedly for more. With little clips of Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel, we’ve been treated to some of the action, adventure, and comedy in store for us through 2022.

In a real surprise though, we were treated to the reveal of X-Men 97, a new animated series that picks up where the old Fox animated series left off. Get ready for the rockin’ guitar riff and epic mutant storytelling!

To top off all of that, Disney gave us the logos for some of their other upcoming shows, some we already knew, others not so much.

We’ve seen the logos for Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel, but some of the new ones like I Am Groot, Secret Invasion and Echo are exciting additions!

New And Old

Next up we have a collection of announced animated shorts, series, and movies to excite fans young and old! My personal favorite is the Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers Comeback movie!

Adding to this amazing news, we have a short-form series Zootopia +, a Cars series that looks like a history of the world comedically portrayed, and a series featuring everyone’s favorite soft robot, Baymax.

Star Wars

Book of Boba Fett is set to release December this year, we were treated to the release of Under The Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett. A documentary about the galaxy’s most iconic bounty hunter.

From next year’s Kenobi, we were treated to some great concept art, some controversial, some not. This was just one of the gorgeous pieces we showed to us as part of the whole affair.

There Was So Much More

So many others were announced, from documentaries about the Beatles to some Jungle movie coming to the streaming service. For now, we close another year for Disney +, hoping to see more exciting things from the service in the future!
