This week we’re shining our spotlight on New Jersey cosplayer Bee (she/her)!

How long have you been a cosplayer?
I made and wore my first cosplay in 2009, but my first convention was 13 years ago!

What got you into cosplay?
I’ve always loved dress up, so when I realized I could dress up as my favorite character in an anime it was perfect!

Do you make, buy, or is it a combination?
I primarily make my cosplays, but i definitely do a combination of both

First cosplay?
Ever: Sakura Haruno from Naruto. To a con: Gijinka!Buneary from Pokemon

Latest cosplay?
Two Aerith Gainsborough skins from Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis

Favorite thing about being a cosplayer?
Getting to dress up as characters I absolutely adore! I love looking in the mirror and seeing the characters come to life. I also love seeing other people get super excited seeing me!

Least favorite thing?
Comparing cosplayers. It’s so unnecessary. We’re all here to have fun

What do you do for work outside of cosplay?
I’m a school disability aide!

What are your top 3 fandoms?
One Piece, Final Fantasy VII, and Sonic!

What cosplay are you planning next?
I’m not sure yet! Probably another Aerith outfit.

What’s one piece of advice for new cosplayers?
As long as you stay respectful cosplay whoever you want however you want! Cosplay for yourself, not for other people.

Where can people find you on social media?
@bumbl3breeze on Instagram!

Below is a gallery of some of our featured subject’s cosplays! (All photo and art credits use the photographer or artist’s Instagram handle.)
