Charisma Carpenter Accuses Joss Whedon of Abuse

On February 10, Buffy and Angel actress Charisma Carpenter posted a series of tweets sharing her experience with director Joss Whedon.

In the tweets, Charisma alleged that Whedon abused his power to have the actress removed from Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Angel. According to Carpenter, the director was “hostile” and “toxic.” The actress recalls Whedon calling her “fat” in front of colleagues when she was 4 months pregnant.

Carpenter also mentions that she participated in the Warner Media Justice League investigation in support of Ray Fisher.

You may recall that Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg in the Justice League film, shared his own experiences with Whedon on the set of Justice League. Fisher told Warner Media that he experienced racism and harassment while filming the superhero film.  Joss Whedon had taken over the role of director for Zack Snyder after he experienced a personal tragedy during filming.

On January 15, 2021, Fisher shared an audio clip where an independent investigator praised him for being truthful.

Fisher later today thanked Carpenter for her support and “courage.”

After Charisma Carpenter’s tweets were posted, her former co-star Amber Benson backed the actress’s claims.

The star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar, posted a message of support on her personal Instagram.

Thank you @sarahmgellar for saying this. I am brave enough now as a 35 year old woman….To repost this. Because. This must. Be known. As a teenager. With his not appropriate behavior….very. Not. Appropriate. So now. People know.

Actor James Marsden (Spirited Away, Sonic the Hedgehog) tweeted his own feelings about Joss Whedon.

On February 1, 2021, Amber Benson shared a flyer for a virtual panel she is doing with Charisma Carpenter for MyCon.

The virtual meet and greet is scheduled for February 27, 2021, at 12pm PST. No word if the ladies will be discussing their experiences with Joss Whedon.

The accused director has not released a statement addressing the new allegations.

What do you think about the new allegations against Joss Whedon? Will more come out? Share your thoughts in the comments and social media.
