A Journey Into Candyland – Fever’s Choco Town Review

Do you have a sweet tooth? Have you ever wanted to travel to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory? Then you’re in for a sweet treat. Fever’s latest experience coming to the Metro Detroit area is Choco Town: An Immersive Journey Into a Sweet Town.

Choco Town can best be described as a chocolate lover’s dream where you can taste a selection of mouthwatering treats and discover your own chocolate personality. From the very beginning of your journey, you are welcomed by a Choco Town resident who gives you the background of how the city came to be and a map to help you along the journey. Once you learn more about the town, visitors are led into the Town Center where they are fully immersed in the city and all of its sights, sounds, and many sweet surprises.

From the beginning to the very end of my visit, I was constantly in awe and wonder at just how detailed and colorful this candy-coated world that Fever had created. The residents of Choco Town are friendly and get you to interact with all of the elements and guide you through the candy-themed experiences. Instead of your typical taste testing, this experience uniquely gets all of your five senses involved with all of the chocolates you get to try.

I appreciated all of the smallest details of each part of the city and how Choco Town gets everyone that visits (adults and kids alike) to let loose and have fun. Each part of town is shown on the map and once you visit and stamp the map for each location you’ll even get a special reward at the end.

Everyone that was there, including me, had smiles on their faces. The city is filled with creative backdrops for memorable pictures, including some unique ways to taste candy, and even learn more about the history of chocolate. In the end, you can purchase even more chocolate to take on the go and goodies at the gift shop or visit the Choco Town café.

If candy towns were real, Choco Town is what I imagine it would look like. As a person who loves desserts and all things sweet, this was the experience for me. I had so much fun interacting with each part of the experience. I was laughing and smiling the entire time. I think Choco Town is a must-do for candy lovers and is best experienced in small groups of people. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

A ticket for general admission includes chocolate samples, multiple photo opportunities with appetizing candy backdrops, games, and many other sweet surprises. Adult tickets start at $25 and Child tickets start at $18. All ages are welcome for this event and kids under 3 years old do not need a ticket for admission. Minors under the age of 16 will not be allowed inside without an accompanying parent or guardian. Visits typically average 60 minutes for Choco Town.

You can visit the Choco Town Experience from March 16th–April 23, 2023. The event will take place on the first floor of Oakland Mall (Troy), next to Hobby Lobby. The event runs from Thursdays through Sundays with various times for each day.

You can visit Fever’s website to purchase tickets and get full details about the experience.
