Timothy Zahn On THRAWN & ELI VANTO – Farpoint 2022 Interview

In the Star Wars Universes, Grand Admiral Thrawn is a popular character whether in the Legends continuity or the new canon. We spoke to author Timothy Zahn, who created this Star Wars icon, to talk about Thrawn’s future, his introduction in Rebels and on The Mandalorian, the upcoming Ahsoka series, new book proposals and so much more!

In May of 1991, Heir to the Empire was published and started a new explosion of Star Wars tales. It also introduced Grand Admiral Thrawn, a member of the Chiss race and an expert tactician. He was quite the opponent to Luke, Leia, Han, and the New Republic that they helped form. While the stories that emerged after Heir to the Empire became known as the Legends Universe, Thrawn found new life when he was introduced in the Star Wars Rebels animated series. Timothy Zahn has written six new novels about Thrawn since the new continuity was established and he speaks to us about his ideas for Thrawn-centric stories that explore even more of this fascinating character.

We also talk about his other upcoming non-Star Wars projects and his collaboration with David Weber in the Manticore Ascendancy series.
