The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 2, “We Are The End of the World,” focuses on the origin of Beta and his first meeting with Alpha and Lydia. The Governor Reacts to this flashback tale, plus we follow the Whisperers today as unrest comes to light as they gather guardians for their protection and an event from last season has repercussions. TWD S10E02 flashes back to 7 years ago and we meet up with Alpha and Lydia, likely shortly after they left the hiding spot they shared with others. Most of our normal community members do not appear, though Daryl and Connie briefly appear in flashbacks. Beta’s origin is explored in the past and in the present, a Whisperer is anointed Gamma after impressing Alpha. The Governor reacts to this episode and afterwards gives his review on the events of it. At the end, we catch up to the end of the last episode (with the Carol staring contest with Alpha) and the storylines converge. The Whisperer War draws closer.
