“Spirit Halloween: The Movie” Sees Christopher Lloyd Haunt A Spirit Halloween Store

The spooky season draws ever closer and more releases are cropping up for this Halloween season.

Today, we got the first teaser trailer for Spirit Halloween: The Movie – a film that centers on a group of kids who become trapped inside a Spirit Halloween Store on Halloween. What seems like a harmless night’s worth of fun turns into a battle against all the store’s inhabitants when an evil spirit begins possessing all things and people.

You can watch the trailer, which has a strong Goosebumps vibe, below.

A synopsis for the film reads:

“When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle-school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.”

Christopher Lloyd and Rachael Leigh Cook star in the upcoming feature film, which also stars Donavan Colan, Dylan Frankel, Jaiden Smith and Marissa Reyes.

Spirit Halloween: The Movie comes from Strike Back Studios, and their president Noor Ahmed spoke about the inspiration behind the film, saying:

“One of the reasons I immediately connected with the script is it is very much inspired by some of my favorite kid adventure films growing up from ‘The Goonies,’ ‘Gremlins,’ ‘Monster Squad’ and so many great films made by Amblin Entertainment.”
