PA Convention Center Celebrates 25 Years- With Cosplay!

The Pennsylvania Convention Center celebrated its 25th anniversary on May 10th with a very special event held at the Center itself.

Since May 1993, the Center has housed a diverse spectrum of meetings and conventions, ranging from cultural gatherings, home & garden shows, and likely most known to our readers, Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con. With this year’s con just a week away, it held a strong presence- most noticeably with a sizeable group of cosplayers attending and posing for photos with attendees; their ranks included members from local cosplay groups Sister Senshi and The Philadelphia Avengers.

At Thursday’s event, Mayor Jim Kenney spoke on the economic growth the Center has brought to the city, drawing in visitors from all over the country and world. Chairman of the PA Convention Center Authority board, Gregory J. Fox, touched on the influx of jobs the Center has encouraged. And while not in attendance himself, Governor Tom Wolf delivered a congratulatory message as well.
