New ‘The Batman’ Trailer Takes a Closer Look at ‘The Bat & The Cat’

“The Bat and The Cat, it’s got a nice ring.”

The Batman has just dropped a surprise new trailer. Entitled ‘The Bat And The Cat’ the trailer gives us a more in-depth look at the relationship between Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle – as well as their alter egos Batman and Catwoman. It also hints towards a huge fan theory involving Paul Dano’s The Riddler.

BREAKDOWN:

The trailer begins with Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne talking with potential Gotham City Mayoral candidate Bella Real. During the conversation, Bruce’s commitment to the city is questioned as she accuses him of not doing enough despite his wealth and influence.

Little does she know!

The bulk of the trailer then focuses on the conflict between Batman and Catwoman, as Pattinson and Kravitz share steamy chemistry on the screen during a series of back and forth interactions.

Queries over stray cats turn into something far more concerning as Catwoman points towards a huge fan theory for the film over how The Riddler’s crime spree through Gotham City could relate directly to Batman.

“The Riddler’s latest, it’s all about the Waynes,” Selina explains. “If we don’t stand up, no one will.”

Just how much does The Riddler truly know about the identity of The Batman? And what part does he have to play in all this?

We don’t know, but something has gotten under Bruce’s skin, as later in the trailer we see him throw some harsh questions towards Alfred Pennyworth.

The trailer comes off the back of news that The Batman will arrive on HBO Max just 45 days after its theatrical release. Meaning fans can enjoy the film from the comfort of their home on April 19th.

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, and Paul Dano.

The film will be released exclusively in theatres on March, 4th.
