Halloween Horror Movies & TV Guide 2021!

It’s official, October is here! (Where has this year gone!?) And that means one thing, it’s Halloween season! Fans of horror are in their element as the nights become darker and chillier, and all can be forgiven for spending too much time on the couch with their favorite snacks, binging their favorite scary movies.

Halloween always brings a fresh amount of new content, but 2021 really is spoiling us! With a plethora of original content, sequels, and remakes on the horizon, we take a look at what delights lie ahead this spooky season. So, sit back and get your diaries at the ready, as we break down all the new horror releases coming this Halloween!

THE HAUNTED MUSEUM –  October 2nd, Discovery+

The creepy collection of haunted artifacts housed inside Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum are getting the spotlight in The Haunted Museum, a new horror film anthology series produced in collaboration with filmmaker Eli Roth. The series presents frightening and hellish tales inspired by the spooky relics on display in Zak Bagans’ Las Vegas museum. Bagans, a devoted collector of the macabre, is opening his museum vaults and sharing the secrets and stories behind a curated selection of his most prized haunted items through scripted shorts produced by Roth and his accredited team and with featured commentary from Bagans.

THERE’S SOMEONE INSIDE YOUR HOUSE – October 6th, Netflix

Producers of Stranger Things and The Conjuring Universe combine to deliver Netflix its latest slasher film. There’s Someone Inside Your House tells the story of Makani Young, who has moved from Hawaii to quiet, small-town Nebraska to live with her grandmother and finish high school, but as the countdown to graduation begins, her classmates are stalked by a killer intent on exposing their darkest secrets to the entire town. With a mysterious past of her own, Makani and her friends must discover the killer’s identity before they become victims themselves.

THE MANOR – October 8th, Amazon Prime

After suffering a stroke, Judith Albright moves into a historic nursing home, where she begins to suspect something supernatural is preying on the residents. In order to escape, she’ll need to convince everyone around her that she doesn’t actually belong there after all.

MADRES – October 8th, Amazon Prime

A Mexican-American couple expecting their first child relocate to a migrant farming community in 1970’s California. When the wife begins to experience strange symptoms and terrifying visions, she tries to determine if it’s related to a legendary curse or something more nefarious.

THE MEDIUM – October 14th, Shudder

The Medium is a Thai-Korean supernatural horror film that tells the story of a shaman’s inheritance in the Isan region of Thailand. What could be possessing a family member might not be the Goddess they make it out to be. The film was adjudged as the best feature film at 25th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and was awarded the Bucheon Choice Award for best film.

CHUCKY (TV Series) – October 12th, Syfy

Chucky is an upcoming television series adaptation created by Don Mancini and based on the Child’s Play film franchise. It serves as a sequel to Cult of Chucky, the seventh film in the franchise. After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets.

HALLOWEEN KILLS – October 15th, in Cinemas and Peacock

The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode continues in the next thrilling chapter of the Halloween series. Halloween Kills is the sequel to 2018’s Halloween and picks up immediately after the events of that film.

After Laurie Strode, her daughter Karen, and granddaughter Allyson left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster. The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all. 

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (TV Series) – October 15th, Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime hosts the TV series adaptation of cult classic horror/slasher film I Know What You Did Last Summer. The series promises to be a modern take on the original film. The first four episodes will be released all at once, with each new episode available every Friday after, culminating with the season finale on November 12th, 2021.

One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town – and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.

DAY OF THE DEAD – October 15th, Syfy

Day of the Dead is an upcoming television series based on George A Romeros’ Horror classic of the same name. The series will follow six strangers who are trying to survive the first 24 hours of an undead invasion.

SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE – October 16th, Syfy

Slumber Party Massacre is a reimagining of Roger Corman’s 1982 slasher film of the same name, which follows a female high school student’s slumber party that turns into a bloodbath, as a newly escaped psychotic serial killer – wielding a power drill – prowls her neighborhood.

LAST NIGHT IN SOHO – October 29th, in Cinemas

Last Night in Soho is a British psychological horror film directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Baby Driver). The film stars Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith, and Terence Stamp, and tells the story of Eloise, a young woman with a passion for fashion design, who finds herself transported back in time to 1966 London in the body of an iconic nightclub singer named Sandie. While in Sandie’s body, Eloise begins a romantic relationship, but she begins to realize that Sandie’s life in the swinging sixties is not as glamorous as it appears to be, and both past and present begin to fall apart with horrifying consequences

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: NEXT OF KIN – October 29th, Paramount +

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is an upcoming reboot of the found footage horror film series. It is written by Paranormal Activity regular Christopher Landon and is produced by Blumhouse Productions. The film will serve as the seventh installment of the franchise.
