Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 Trailer Released

After months of anticipation, Marvel has finally released the official trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 – which you can check out below!

Originally released earlier this year at SDCC, the trailer picks up with our gang after their lengthy absence and wastes no time in delivering the Guardian goodness we’ve all become accustomed to. The trailer also offers us our first look at Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, as well as an emotional look at the Guardians’ past, whilst hinting towards one final showdown for the team.

Alongside the release of the trailer, Marvel released an official synopsis for the film, which reads:

“Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians.”

New DCEU boss James Gunn will helm the release and the director has previously spoken more about the film, confirming that this will be the last time we see this version of the Guardians.

“This is the end for us, the last time people will see this team of Guardians. It’s so, so big and dark, and different from what people might be expecting it to be. I just want to be true to the characters, the story and give people the wrap-up that they deserve for the story.”

Gunn revealed more details about the film at SDCC, saying:

“I think it’s really been about telling one story between the three films with a couple of sideways adventures. But I think it really is about the one story. This is the final arc that we began at the very beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy, with Peter Quill, with Rocket, seeing where Nebula goes, and even Kraglin, who started out as saying one or two lines in the first movie and is now a main Guardian of the Galaxy.”

Guardians 3 will see the return of Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Dave Bautista as Drax, Zoe Saldaña as Gamora, Sean Gunn as Kraglin/on-set Rocket, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, and Vin Diesel as Groot.

Newcomers to the franchise include The Suicide Squad’s Daniela Melchior, Borat 2 and Bodies, Bodies, Bodies breakout Maria Bakalova, and Chukwudi Iwuji.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. is set to release in theatres on May 23, 2023.
