David Harbour’s Bloody Action-Comedy ‘Violent Night’ Releases First Trailer

Santa Claus is coming to town.

Universal has released the official trailer for its upcoming action-comedy film, Violent Night – which you can check out below.

David Harbour has waged war in the Upside Down and traveled across the Multiverse, but his latest outing might be his most bonkers one yet. In Violent Night, the Stranger Things and Black Widow star brings us a Santa Claus like we’ve never seen before, as Jolly Old St Nick takes on a band of mercenaries who take a family hostage.

The film’s synopsis reads:

When a team of mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.

The film, which was compared to Die Hard by Harbour earlier this year at CinemaCon, comes to us from the producers of Nobody and Bullet Train, and will co-star Emmy winner John Leguizamo (John Wick), Cam Gigandet (Without Remorse), Alex Hassell (Cowboy Bebop), Alexis Louder (The Tomorrow War), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones) and Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise).

Norwegian director Tommy Wirkola (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Dead Snow) directs from an original screenplay penned by Sonic The Hedgehog writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller.

Violent Night arrives in theatres on December 2nd.
