If you didn’t know by now, Black Fae Day was May 9th. It was a day for Black people to create fantasy looks and encourage representation in fantasy works. We’re rarely considered when it comes to fairies, orcs, mermaids, and other mythical creatures. Mainstream media doesn’t show Black people in these roles so a day was created on Twitter and spread across social media. People came out in droves as fairies, nymphs, elves, orcs, and so much more. Seeing the creativity and looks was amazing. I chose 11 looks that jumped out at me, and it was difficult to narrow down. Be sure to check out these talented creators on their socials, and enjoy more looks as this event has evolved into Black Fae May!
