A whole new set of teens face the horrors of a mysterious stalker.
Horror master James Wan serves as Executive Producer for the upcoming Amazon Prime series, “I Know What You Did Last Summer” which is set to premiere on October 15th, 2021 – just in time for the Halloween season.
The first four episodes will be released all at once, with each new episode available every Friday after, culminating with the season finale on November 12th, 2021.
Based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, the series will bring the slasher franchise to the small screen and serve as a modern take on the hit 1997 film that starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe.
The official synopsis reads as follows.
One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town – and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.
Casting for the remake series was announced earlier this year with Madison Iseman (Annabelle Comes Home, Jumanji: The Next Level) set to lead, alongside Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, and Bill Heck.
Craig Macneill (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Castle Rock, “NOS4A2”) will direct the show’s pilot episode, replacing Wan, who was originally slated to direct.
